The excitement is building for our summer conference to be held in the Upstate July 27-29 on the campus of Presbyterian College in Clinton, SC. Come experience three FULL days of beekeeping instruction in the form of workshops, instructional sessions, on-site learning apiary, honey show, and vendor fair. This year’s conference setting will be uniquely different being held on a college campus. We’d like to think of it as attending a 3-day all-inclusive bee camp where you can stay in campus housing, eat in the cafeteria with made-from-scratch meals, and participate in all of the conference programing plus additional social activities where you can literally “talk bee” 24/7! Friday night will feature a BBQ and our first ever “Beek Olympics” where clubs can sponsor and enter fun events earning points toward the SCBA Club Spirit Award. Programming details are being finalized, but we can tell you that this summer’s theme is Queen Rearing. Sessions will cover various aspects to interest the new as well as seasoned beekeeper. Confirmed Keynote Speakers include Jennifer Berry from the University of Georgia and Rick Coor from North Carolina State Beekeepers Association’s Born and Bred Program.
We anticipate launching registration in early May. Keep checking back on our home page for the link. Please DO NOT contact Presbyterian College for conference information or housing. We are renting their facilities and are handling all of those details through our website and registration link. The wonderful staff at PC are excited to host us, but are not able to assist you with registration. Put the date on your calendar and plan now to attend.
Honey Show details are now posted – click here for link. Start working on your entries early. Another $100 Grand Prize Award is to be given away!
